We distilled this yerba mansa essential oil after wild-crafting it on the banks of the Rio Grande ourselves. This is an extremely rare and precious essential oil and our recent distillation yielded only a small amount, which we felt called to share with you, because its transformative power is urgently needed in the world. It has become an important ally in our work on ancestral healing. It also excellent for Shadow work and the alchemical stage of Mortificatio. Yerba mansa (Anemopsis californica) is the local plant form of the Dark Goddess. It reconnects us and guides us through the dark night of the soul. It connects us with our ancestral powers and allows us to embrace death as a necessary part of the cycle of death and rebirth.

Yerba Mansa, which is endemic to the southwestern US, grows abundantly in the region of New Mexico where we live. We are aware of the need to take care of it, protect it and not take too much of its rhizomes. We make sure that we respect the plant. When we harvest our goal is that you cannot tell that we have been there. We only take a small amount.
We invite you to use it sparingly to honor this deeply sacred plant.
Here’s a blog post that we wrote a few years ago about what yerba mansa taught us.
